cracked jar

It is told that there once was an old woman who had two large pots, each carried at the end of a stick that she placed on her neck. One of the pots had a crack on its side, while the other pot was sound, carrying water and delivering it without spilling, whereas the cracked pot delivered only half the amount of water. The sound pot was proud of its perfection. But the cracked pot remained miserable and ashamed because it could only deliver half of what it was made for.
