Ahmeda Al-Mesiridy Al-Tayeb
The book, first published in Damascus a quarter of a century ago, at the time stirred the sword of ideology into a repressive tool striking down all creativity. Arab critics describe the book as literature coming from a land known more for its Francophone writings than its Arabic ones. The book includes seven short stories, among which are: They Fell, The War Hasn't Started Yet, Al-Mariha, Freefall, The Undefeated Dream, Dried Lips Roasted Creatures, Troubles of the Last Day, The King and the Poet, The Queue of the Hungry.
