Repetition
Repetition, by the Danish philosopher Søren Kierkegaard, is a book about a young man who lost his love and longs for her return. This young man is, in fact, Kierkegaard himself, and the story of his love for Regine Olsen, their engagement, the tragic end of that engagement, and his perpetual longing for her return. The book also includes the story of Job and the tribulations and suffering he faced in his life, and his subsequent recovery of his lost world. The book is a love story or a short novel that describes the human struggle between aesthetic, idealistic, and moral positions.
