This is for the day of revelation, when I wasn't there to hold you close to my heart as you trembled! And for the Day of Ta'if, when I wasn't there to shield you from the stones with my chest! And for the day Khadijah died, when I wasn't there to wipe your tears and tell you: I am a sacrifice for your sandal! And for the Day of Uhud, when I wasn't there as you wiped the blood from your noble face, to protect you from that blow! And for the poisoned sheep's shoulder, when I wasn't there to eat it for you! This is because I believed in you without seeing you, and because I trusted you without hearing from you, and because I loved you without ever setting my eyes on you. My father and mother be sacrificed for you, O Messenger of Allah ﷺ
