Political Psychology

This book concludes that there are two main types of approaches to understanding human political behavior: the first is a situational approach that considers the environment or situation surrounding the individual to be more important in shaping the individual's behavior or role in the public sphere than their personal tendencies or characteristics; the other is a dispositional approach that views the individual's personality, beliefs, values, or even genetic heritage as more influential in this regard. In general, political behavior can be viewed as an event driven by internal causes or external influences, or a combination of these two types.
