I missed a prayer

As children, we were commanded to pray by our elders, so we would obey and go to pray, but we found prayer difficult, so we would abandon it. Then we would hear a sheikh talk about prayer, its importance, and the punishment for those who neglect it, so we would go to pray, but we would find prayer difficult, so we would abandon it.... We thought that those who commanded us to pray did not feel what we felt.... We thought that those who maintained their prayers had a divine gift that we lacked. We waited for that divine gift for a long time, missing prayer after prayer.... because we did not solve the root of the problem... which is why prayer seems so difficult.
