Humiliated and disgraced
In this novel, Dostoevsky presents his vision of the ambiguity, contradictions, and even humiliation inherent in overwhelming love. He shows how, when this love becomes extreme, the weaker party pays a high price. This is the case with Natasha, who gave her heart and abandoned her family, sacrificing everything without hesitation. She was forced to bear the consequences of this love, confront the evil represented by the Prince, her beloved Alyosha's father, overlook her childish lover's weakness and submission to his whims, and even accept his love for another woman.
