The novel is divided into four chapters. The first chapter recounts war and its tragedies, detailing past wars from which people have not learned lessons. It blends past and present, leading the reader to the realization that war, its causes, and its instigators remain the same in every era, though the combatants change. In the second chapter, the author addresses specific social issues, such as attempting to explain madness and illustrating the fine line between it and genius, as well as criticizing the phenomenon of religion and its transformation from a calling into a profession. In the third chapter, the meeting between the narrator and Nabdh is recounted, which is a purely romantic chapter describing the emergence of their love. The fourth chapter describes the killing of Nabdh.
