Letters to Felice in two parts
Kafka corresponded with an unknown woman, always referring to her in his diaries by the initial "F". This name remained unknown until a woman named Felice Bauer published letters in 1955, five years before her death, stating that Kafka had addressed them to her. Her full name, "Felice Bauer," appeared for the first time, revealing a love affair between her and Kafka that lasted for five years, from 1912 to 1917. During their correspondence, they became engaged twice, but Kafka broke off both engagements for various reasons.
