Either or Life Fragment Two Parts
This is one of the masterpieces of world literature, which addresses diverse and complex philosophical issues in a sophisticated literary and narrative style. In this book, Kierkegaard laid the foundations of existential philosophy, in both its religious and secular aspects. He also connected thought with human life experience, by proposing what he called the three existential stages: aesthetic, ethical, and religious. The first part, called "A," deals with the aesthetic; a melancholic, poetic young character who lives his day superficially, holds great respect for Mozart, writes poetry and delivers theses "for a fellow of the dead," and gives the impression of being a miserable, unhappy person who, despite his tender youth, sometimes falls into despair, and fundamentally feels that he is done with life. This part also includes, in addition to "A," the chapter "Diary of the Seducer," which concludes the first part of the book. Kierkegaard's world and life, and his thought, cannot be understood without understanding his emotional relationship with Regine Olsen (1822-1904), his engagement to her, and then the breaking of the engagement after one year. Not to mention the great impact this relationship had on him, to the extent that it became one of the famous immortal love stories of the world.
